Ok I tried to find the least gory pictures.

Stigmata is basically when someone whose a really devout Christian actually develops Christ-like wounds on their body.

This isn’t self-inflicted, it kind of just happens. It just appears on the body.

Some say it’s supernatural, but really it’s a psychosomatic disorder, which means if you really, really believe something hard enough, your body starts to actually manifest the symptoms.

Crazy right?

But it happens.
